Land status
During talks with the Czech Republic, the EU managed to reach an agreement on a seven-year transitional period in which the sale of agricultural land to other EU citizens will be restricted after the Czech Republic's EU entry; this included a five-year delay on sale of "secondary real estate" to foreigners, which means that foreigners will not be allowed to buy houses, flats or recreational buildings in the Czech Republic for a five year period, unless they intend to use them as their primary residence.
